Ekam was born on the 04/10/2018 He’s our only child. I had a forceps birth with him. He weighted at 6.7 with good health.

Ekam is a bubbly, chatty and confident child. He loves, playing with others, watching youtube on his ipad and playing with his toys. His interest are cars, Batman, paw patrols and guns and he knows I don’t like him playing with them etc. He is also very sociable with children and adults once getting to know them. Ekam also has lovely manners as always reminded by me (mum).

Ekam will also show a very angry personality to him, he will get very angry over situations such as if he’s been told several time NO he will show this anger by saying “mummy I’m angry” or by hitting, shouting and throwing things across the room.

Behaviour

Ekam will listen and do as he’s told with a lot of encouragement and praising. However, his behaviour isn’t great.  He will kick and slam doors and hands in a punch fist. I was really concerned about his behaviour and then went to see his nursery teachers. I asked them what his behaviour is like. They told me that he is a really good and caring child towards other children, when he is being told off he is understanding why and apologises but general behaviour is fine.

This made me think about his routine at home was maybe need so I made some changing with buying some sand times which works really well at the moment. Ekam is such an energetic child he’s jumping off tables, beds anything really, he gets told off but doesn’t really listen. This is when sometimes – not often I should say – I will sit him on the steps holding on to him with a sandtimer. I will say once sandtimer is complete you can go. He will cry, scream, shout and sometimes hit me.

Nursery

Ekam goes to nursery 3 full days a week. He will sometime cry before going which then makes it harder for me to dress him while he’s crying – he is crying always when going to nursery. He doesn’t want to go but as soon as he’s there he’s fine. He attends Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – nursery is open from 7.30am to 6pm. I would love him to be in at 8am but I sometimes have to work in the morning, dad starts work at 1pm so he will always send him later as he prefers Ekam to have a longer nap in the morning so by the time he’s going in it will be about 10am or 11am. He started nursery at 11 months of age

Food

Food is a big issue for Ekam. He hates food unless it’s ice cream, sweets and fruit. For breakfast dad will feed him in bed. I will normally do an early lesson from 7am or 8am while Ekam is sleeping. Lunch he will eat with me as a lunch box he loves I will try and sit him down at the table but every second he will run off so I start running after him feeding him while he’s away from the table. Dinner time is the same. Night times he sometimes gets hungry and wants milk bottle but I’ve started to take that off him. Ekam will ask for milk or food instead of bottle, so I will say no just because I don’t want to go down and I don’t want it to become a regular thing, however sometimes I will. Also, dad will give him what he wants so if it’s a bottle he gets it from him.

Dummy

Yes another issue, up to now he is so close to coming off. He will only have it at a time before going to bed. Sometimes it’s my fault he’s on it I feel like it calms him down and into bed otherwise he’s running around messing with the other children.

Family

We live with another couple, they are family. They have 2 children – one girl at the age of 9 years, and a little boy age 2 who has a dummy. Ekam loves playing, messing and hitting them.

Sleep Time

Ekam has his own bed in our room, but I find it difficult to get him to sleep. He will go into his bed but for him to stay in bed after a story time he will want his ipad, and I do give it to him.  I shouldn’t do, but sometimes I find it’s the only thing that will keep him there. He will every night come into our bed, and sleeps late because he’s on the ipad. Sometimes I will hold onto Ekam’s hand lying on the end of the bed for him to stay in his bed too.

I just also wanted to mention that I am the strict parent and with dad Ekam gets what he wants from him.
