I had a recommendation from a mum friend Liz Fletcher, who spoke so highly of Amanda and her services. I approached Amanda who was so helpful and offered to chat with me over the phone to explain her packages and ethos. As soon as I spoke with her, I instantly knew I wanted to enlist her Platinum package in order to have her on this breastfeeding journey with me. She spoke with such positivity, confidence and passion about breastfeeding and the journey that I came away from the conversation feeling excited about breastfeeding, confident and fascinated with her knowledge on the subject.
So, I had firstly a consultation face-to-face with Amanda in her Cheshire clinic to go through her programme, and then our work together post-birth was all online and just as successful. Amanda instantly drip-fed me information, research, images of things she highly recommended, etc. which took the stress out of doing this for myself and had a chance to soak this in before we started hand-expression.
I was very excited to start hand-expression, this was something I knew little about and hadn’t done with my first baby but proved invaluable when my daughter Rae was born as the syringes did exactly what Amanda said they would do and provided great respite for settling Rae. This is now something I would always do when expecting a baby!
Amanda is always so kind and encouraging at every turn, and there is nothing that seems out of her control or comfort zone. I didn’t end up hand-expressing for long as Baby No. 2 came earlier than both of us had expected. Amanda kicked into action straight away, freeing her relentless schedule and devoted her time to Face-Timing and going through the birth, offering her opinions, providing recommendations for an excellent private midwife and one-to-one help with feeding, methodology, timings – the works!
I had a very difficult journey with my first baby who was incredibly tongue-tied and was unfortunately never able to feed her successfully and have her content. I spent 6 months muddling through with an unhappy mummy and baby and it ruined precious and special moments.
To have Amanda on board and have this experience be so so different was absolutely invaluable. I could not rate and recommend her support, knowledge, recommendations of contacts (whether that be midwives to tongue-tie specialists) highly enough. She never cuts corners to make sure both baby plus mummy, daddy and the wider family unit are content and working seamlessly, and offers honest, realistic and practical suggestions of how and what to do with baby and feeding.
Amanda will be a friend and contact for life, I can’t thank her enough (or Liz enough for recommending her) and look forward to working with her again during the next phase of Rae’s life – food & sleep at 5.5 months.
