Luca – 18 months

Reason for Contact

I first spoke with Amanda when Luca was 18 months old and really struggling with food. He was on 2 bottles a day – 16 ounces of milk, only really eating fruit pouches and breadsticks. I thought there is no way I can get him to enjoy food – he hates everything! Any food I would give to Luca he would flick it, throw it or spit it out.

I knew things had to change and having seen the amazing things Amanda did for my nephew Blake, I knew I had to speak to her and there we then began with her Platinum Package after Amanda assessed our case study at the first consultation. Best thing we ever did!

Solution

Amanda gave me the confidence to drop the bottles of milk, as she assured me that once I did this I would see a change in Luca’s appetite.

The very next day we did just that and it was the best thing we ever did! I honestly wasn’t aware as to how much milk/dairy an 18 month old should be drinking but Amanda really helped me to understand how much he should be having. I was filling him up on all the wrong foods but was in the vicious circle of trying to get him to eat. We dropped the milk and switched to the ‘Magic Porridge’! That for me was the first time I had seen him enjoy food that wasn’t a fruit pouch or breadstick – it was truly magical.

The milk wasn’t missed and I could see his interest in food was increasing and he would try foods he had never had before. It took time to get him to have fruit and veg – but Amanda was always there for support and guidance on different ways to help encourage him to try new foods. From fruit lollies, to different recipes, fruit picking and much more.

Amanda, I love how you would check in with me each day to see how Luca was progressing and we would laugh at how the foods I said he wouldn’t touch he soon couldn’t get enough of!

Separate to the food was the issue of self-feeding and he refused to feed himself anything with a spoon or fork. How things have changed – I am not even allowed to touch the spoon – Luca goes for it with this new sense of independence. The nursery have told me how impressed they are with Luca’s self-feeding, and the transformation was pretty much instant.

End Result

I cannot thank Amanda enough for all her help and support over the two week duration with her Food Programme in June. Luca has gained weight and is looking so much healthier- it makes me so so happy!

Amanda, thank you again for everything – for helping my little one enjoy food and making feeding times so much more fun! Thank you for giving me the confidence to make changes, which I would never have been able to do without your support and guidance.

I tell everyone how amazing you are!! Please keep in touch
