If someone asks me how breastfeeding is, my first instinct it to say, easy but that is not the full picture.
I am now finding it easy only because of Amanda Marks’ help, support, and guidance following her Pre and Post birth breastfeeding programme
The first decision I made for my baby was to call Amanda and book her popular 2-week Platinum package with Breastfeeding support. Most people around me had found some difficulty with breastfeeding either temporarily or permanently, Amanda was someone I trusted to guide me throughout.
Amanda’s two-week programme is not easy but it is effective. To date I have had no problems with supply, engorgement, or latch and my baby is exclusively breastfed.
Amanda was available from 37 weeks for our initial Pre-birth consultation and colostrum expression support up to birth; this ideally would have been face to face at the clinic at No. 10 Harley Street, but due to Covid we had our programme online. This worked great and covered a lot of ground.
Amanda then began fully from birth onwards guiding me on how to put her programme into action.
She was available on WhatsApp with my husband till I managed to have a video call with her 5 hours after delivery. Then every step for those essential first two weeks, in fact she continues to check in and answer my questions and concerns even now weeks on.
I believe most women need that type of dedication and support as a part of the Ante and Post Natal process. Amanda answered all my questions, sometimes before they came up so I knew I was on the right track and I didn’t have the common doubts of whether my baby is full, had enough milk, or other doubts about my supply, weight gains or issues around them with the health professionals.
One difficulty for us was the witching hours, my daughter could cry from 5 to 9 on/off (or on/on) most nights. This was particularly challenging for my husband and I. Amanda was there with explanations, ideas and support on what is happening and different ways on how to get through it.
I believe without Amanda’s support I would have been filled with anxiety, lots of uncertainty with many different answers from different sources, and I am not sure if I would have found breastfeeding ‘easy’ as I do now.
I look forward to working with her again on her food and sleep programme soon!
